James David Engle Jim started Automation Design and Service in 1984. The use of programmable Logic Controllers was becoming popular and industrial applications were growing rapidly. Jim programmed and integrated some of the earliest systems, and he has witnessed a dramatic evolution in the field of PLC and SCADA control.

Power Systems: Designed high voltage substations, switchgear, motor control centers, and transmission lines. Emphasis on short circuit and relay coordination studies.

Motor Control: Independently designed systems of large synchronous motors up to 20,000 HP, of large induction motors up to 5,000 HP, and of servo/stepper motor systems with up to seven coordinated axes.

Control Systems: Extensive experience in all popular PLC and SCADA packages. Developed control systems for high speed machine control, temperature and pressure control, security, chemical laboratories, weapons disposal, water treatment, filtration, and numerous other custom applications.

Project Management: Proven ability to work in or lead a project engineering team.
